JOIN ARTGROUP WANSTEAD
1. Register for the Trail and pay the entry fee by June 30th 2019
The entry fee to take part in the Trail is £25. Closing date to pay to join the Trail is Sunday June 30th. The fee covers vital costs and expenses for the group and Art Trail. The trail is organised entirely by unpaid volunteers.

2. Find a venue
You can display your work at business premises in Wanstead High Street and the surrounding streets. Consider all businesses, including cafes, restaurants, shops, galleries, pubs and clubs. It’s down to you, the artist, to find a venue. You will need to negotiate with the shopkeeper or manager to display your work.
It’s important to show what you do, so if you can take along a folder with examples or photographs of your work, that will make it easier. Some will be happy for you to email over some examples of your work.
Some shops will take work by several artists. Try to persuade the owner to put some art in the window, as it will attract passersby.
It’s worth considering linking your work to the shop or business where appropriate, eg a waterfall for the bathroom shop while a painting of flying saucers would be great in a tea shop. And you may find it easier to go round shops and businesses with another artist for moral support.
Space can be found for everyone, and we also have some large venues including St Gabriel’s Church in Aldersbrook. Some venues can accommodate a great deal of work and very large pieces. Our treasurer, Ron, is the contact for St Gabriel’s: firstname.lastname@example.org .

Trail organisers have been visiting most shops and businesses in the area with information about this year’s Trail. If you find a business that doesn’t know about the Trail and wants information, direct them to the letter, now on our website at:

You may show work in more than one venue, but please distribute your work fairly. If you bag a very prominent business for some of your art, choose a business at the quieter section of the high street for more of your work.
3. Submit details of venues, you and your work
Please do this as soon as possible. The absolute deadline for your details to go into the art trail guide is the end of July .
When you have agreed where your work is going to be shown, you need to submit full details to us using the online form.
This will ask you to give the venue details, a short optional bio with info about your work, your contact details and photographs of your work. These will be used for the online Trail Guide .
4. Hang/install your work at your venue
The Trail dates this year 2019 are 7th – 22th September. As the Trail approaches, get in touch with your venue and agree a time to get work set up and in place ready for the start of the Trail. Work needs to be up and on display BY Friday 6th . It shouldn’t go up on the Saturday – it should already be there for the launch.
5. Encouraging visitors to visit the Trail
We are continuing to put most of the Trail information on the website, producing a small leaflet with a map to show all participating venues. To make the Trail successful please do all you can to spread the word, and pitch in to help when you can. ALL members will be asked to help with leafleting. And calls will be put out for various roles and tasks as they arise. We will need more volunteers to make this a really fabulous 10th anniversary year.
